Why this blog ?

Pickle can be made from fruit, vegetables, grains, condiments, spices and even flowers. It can be fresh, bottled or cooked.  This only means that pickles can be made anyway using anything that we can eat. The best part of it is it can be used from locally available resources which are agro products. There is no doubt that this will be one of the area where women can stand strong with proper training. They can be trained in all four areas of the trade and should be encouraged to have their own brand of pickle even in local market.

Pickle making is absolutely women's work and men feel loved when they see one more extra food on their plate. It simply says that the woman is very caring and wont mind putting extra efforts by putting couple of minutes more in the kitchen. No wonder there's this saying “ the way to man’s heart is through his belly.” If it makes a man happy then the good taste boost her self esteem and at the same time can be the source of extra income as well, if she gains enough confidence in herself as well as master the art of the trade.

One of the reason to preserve food that have overgrown fruit or vegetables in kitchen garden. Other is we love to eat it in our meal. It has been a part of our life so it is a part of ceremonies and festival. But when the woman have enough confidence in her art then it takes the shape of rising commercial purpose.
