Green Cucumber Pickle


  • I believe there are perhaps more than two dozen ways to make pickles out of green cucumber. It sure will be different in different culture, communities and different part of the world. When we make our pickle it will be as per our local taste bud.  Here in our post we will keep sharing with you as many types as we can  if the pickle is really different than that the one we just posted before.


Ingredient :

Green cucumber : 500 grams of medium
Red chili powder : 2 teaspoon
Brown Sesame seeds : two table spoon
Salt : as per taste
Mustard oil : 2 tablespoon
Curd : Half cup [100 grams]
Fenugreek seed : 1/3 teaspoon
Turmeric powder : 1/4 teaspoon

Process to make it pickle

  • Clean cucumber and cut it into small pieces  [ two inch long and half inch width]
  • Keep it in a bowl and then sprinkle one teaspoon of salt over it. Mix cucumber and salt and then keep it aside for ten minutes, so that the salt brings all the excess juice from cucumber.
  • After ten minutes drain all the excess juices from the cucumber and then add chili powder, some salt, curd, roasted and grinned sesame seed powder.
  • Mix it well.
  • Heat oil in a pan and put fenugreek seeds on the hot oil. When the the color of fenugreek seed becomes black then pour the hot oil over the bowl where all the mixture is. make sure you have spread the turmeric powder on top of the bowl before you poured hot oil on it. This gives a lovely color to your pickle.


Now your pickle is ready.
